Links to awarding and regulatory bodies

Ofqual – regulation of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England and vocational qualifications in Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) – bringing together curriculum, examinations and assessment, advising government, monitoring standards and awarding qualifications.

Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) – the national body in Scotland responsible for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of qualifications other than degrees.

Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) acts as a single voice and a focal point for all the major awarding bodies, helping them to create common standards, regulations and guidance and assisting them to regulate themselves.

Access Arrangements and Special Considerations – JCQ guidance and regulations for candidates who are eligible for adjustments in examinations.

The Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) – representing organisations that award vocational qualifications in the UK.

The Register of Regulated Qualifications –  This site shows the qualifications and awarding organisations regulated by Ofqual and CCEA. The site is shared by the two regulators.

Qualifications in Wales (QiW) – QiW contains details of all qualifications that are approved or designated for teaching in Wales for learners aged under 19, excluding higher education.
