The following message was recently circulated by the DfE Secure Access Service Desk:
SECURE ACCESS – CHANGE OF DATE FOR IMPLEMENTATION.
Although we intend to write to schools separately, in view of the importance of the information below, we would appreciate it if you could support that communication by ensuring your schools are aware of this change.
You will be aware from recent communications that the method of access and password administration used for a number of DfE systems was due to change in September.
We have recently undertaken an in-depth review of the project and it is necessary to defer the implementation of Secure Access until December of this year. This means that the unique PIN numbers will now be available for schools via Edubase by 31st October, and will be e-mailed to LA colleagues by that date.
We will of course keep you updated with information regarding this change and further information will also be made available via the Secure Access website.
Any queries regarding Secure Access should be directed to the helpdesk via a Service Request form.
We are intending to hold Secure Access familiarisation sessions in September for LA colleagues; these will be held in Darlington, London, Runcorn and Sheffield. In order to gauge the level of interest in these sessions, please e-mail DSD.Helpdesk@education.gsi.gov.uk by 5th September stating which site you would like to attend and how many delegates would be interested.
