‘No prospect’ of GCSE gap between rich and poor closing, warns damning report

TES – A damning report into social mobility says there is “currently no prospect” of the grades gap between poorer children and their peers being eliminated at GCSE or A level.  The Social Mobility Commission, in its report, also warns that it would take 40 years, at current rates, to close the attainment gap at age 5.
