On Wednesday the conference was introduced by Keith Remnant, Acting President and delegates then heard a keynote address from Jane Reed entitled ‘ Leading and Developing Learning in Schools’.
Ian Todd, Benedict Coffin and Steve Anwyll
There was also input from Steve Anwyll, 3-14 Assessment at Ofqual, Ian Todd, Chief Executive Designate from the Standards and Testing Agency and Benedict Coffin from the Department for Education, speaking about impending changes to National Curriculum assessment.
Shirley Clarke
Thursday’s programme was delivered by Shirley Clarke and was entitled ‘Understanding formative assessment’.
Charles Deforges
This day of the conference was open to non-members and delegates also heard a keynote address from Emeritus Professor Charles Deforges entitled ‘The role of teachers and schools in making learning effective’.
Tim Oates
Friday’s programme included two keynote addresses. Tim Oates of Cambridge Assessment and chair of the National Curriculum Review Expert Panel spoke on ‘National Curriculum and School Curriculum – difficulties, confusions and understanding demarcations between them’.
To conclude the conference, Warwick Mansell, educational journalist and author, delivered a keynote entitled ‘An independent view of the current educational direction’.
