My core work focuses on the development of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practice, successful school improvement through learning focused leadership, SIP Services for school leaders and governors, and support to develop excellence in provision for more able, gifted and talented learners.
With 30 years in education, I bring a substantial combination of teaching, leadership and management experience to my work. I have undertaken a wide range of roles, including Advisory Teacher, Headteacher, Ofsted Inspector, External Adviser, Primary Advisor, School Improvement Partner, Basic Skills assessor. I am a NACE Challenge Award Lead Assessor and the National Adviser for the Challenge Award. I have a passion for excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. In my work I seek to promote professional dialogue and reflection, using educational research and practical experience, to shape, refine and improve the quality of provision for all learners. I believe that effective support and training should develop the skills, confidence and autonomy of those with whom I work, enabling them to secure improvements in whatever role they work within.
