Quality Learning Post Covid19: creating the conditions for learning that sticks
The 31st AAIA Annual Conference took place at the Bournemouth Marriott. It encouraged members to reflect on the very best conditions for learning and teaching both in school and at a distance when required, how to empower and motivate all learners, how to strategically plan for this, and how to resource their efforts appropriately in an age of uncertainty.
Oliver Caviglioli, co-author of The Teaching WalkThrus series with Tom Sherrington, Alex Quigley of Closing the Vocabulary and Reading Gaps fame and David Didau, whose recent work on leaders creating conditions in which teachers can thrive, played a major part in the Conference. Additionally, practising head teachers Sonia Thompson and Rachel White shared the work in their own schools based upon research-informed practice and the provision of high quality blended learning that effectively engages parents in pupil learning.
Representatives from OFSTED, OFQUAL and STA were also in attendance, and there was time for questions, networking and table discussions, as well as the opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the regions.
