Quality Learning Post Covid19: creating the conditions for learning that sticks
Conference programme (updated draft 19 January 2021)
After a year when there was no AAIA Conference, the Executive is determined to provide a memorable and highly relevant three day event for members in October 2021. The Conference is planned to take place at the Bournemouth Marriott but will go ahead virtually if there are on-going problems with the pandemic. It will encourage members to reflect on the very best conditions for learning and teaching both in school and at a distance when required, how to empower and motivate all learners, how to strategically plan for this, and how to resource their efforts appropriately in an age of uncertainty.
Oliver Caviglioli, co-author of The Teaching WalkThrus series with Tom Sherrington, Alex Quigley of Closing the Vocabulary and Reading Gaps fame and David Didau, whose recent work on leaders creating conditions in which teachers can thrive, will play a major part in the Conference. Additionally, practising head teachers Sonia Thompson and Rachel White will share the work in their own schools based upon research informed practice and the provision of high quality blended learning that effectively engages parents in pupil learning.
Representatives from OFSTED, OFQUAL and STA will also be in attendance, and there will be time for questions, networking and table discussions, as well as the opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the regions.
